Breastfeeding/Mother’s Support Group:

March 3rd: Sex/birth control/menstruating
Did you know that low sex drive, vaginal dryness and absence of your period are all NORMAL during breastfeeding? AND they actually serve a purpose. Come learn why! Mother nature, she’s a sly lady 😉
We will also be discussing why women experience a dip in their milk supply during the time of their period + how to navigate this.
Scale + my lactation services provided.

March 10th: Hannah Guenther, Extension Educator
Hannah Guenther (@feedlotsofpeople) is a food, nutrition, and Health Extension Educator for the University of Nebraska. She is a farm wife in West Point with a huge passion for spreading her knowledge through her small town. She has a FUN and informational day planned for us!
She will be showing us a sugar demonstration on common drinks during postpartum/lactation journey; Discussing the importance of a clean diet during these times.
She will also be discussing family friendly meals– quick + healthy in the multicooker. Bring your questions + kiddos!
+I will be chiming in about caloric intake to maintain a healthy milk supply.

March 17th: Jaundice, slow weight gain, supplementation
Today we discuss clinical reasons for intervening with the breastfeeding journey. BUT this does not mean that formula is the fix all tool.
Just because your baby is jaundice, slower to gain weight/in a lower percentile, experiencing reflux, intolerance’s, etc– you should never be advised to switch to formula if your goal is truly breastfeeding. WE NEED TO ASK WHY THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING.
We will discuss how to navigate these conversations with your provider. How to truly get to the root cause of these issues. Who to reach out to for support and a full evaluation.
A LOT of quality information today. You are your baby’s advocate! See
